PRICE Grants and Compliance Officer

Sombra Williams comes to MHP with over 15 years of compliance program development and implementation related to both public housing redevelopment and capital projects of the School Facilities Master Plan in Post-Katrina New Orleans. She also worked extensively in the Greater New Orleans non-profit sector serving families rendered homeless by the storm as well as designing and conducting grassroots recruitment efforts for literacy remediation and workforce development opportunities in the recovering city. Prior to relocating to New Orleans, Sombra served in the public housing sector in Texas where she earned her Bachelor’s in Sociology and Master’s in Urban Planning from Texas A&M University. Throughout her professional career Sombra has derived great pleasure and fulfillment from helping individuals, families, communities and businesses connect with the opportunities and resources needed to grow and thrive as they choose.
