Take 5 with MHP’s Vikki Baker-Brockberg

Take Five is MHP’s series that asks the same five questions of a variety of people intersecting with MHP, from staff to housing advocates! Today, we welcome Vikki Baker Brockberg, the newest member of MHP’s Community Development team.

Q1. Who is Vikki?

Vikki comes to MHP with 10+ years in Education with an additional 10 years in Real Estate. Before MHP, Vikki served as a Director of Student Services and homeless liaison, working with at risk high school aged students. Additionally, Vikki was an instrumental part of the planning team that built a teen shelter in Anoka, worked to implement a breakfast and lunch program at her school, and advocated and located funding for an onsite laundry facility. Welcome Vikki!

Q2. What attracted you to working with MHP?

MHP’s advocacy for systemic change surrounding equity and affordable sustainable housing for the underrepresented population.

Q3. What’s a challenge in the field of housing right now?

Funding sources for affordable and sustainable housing.

Q5. Who is your superhero? 

All women, Especially Black women committed to making systemic changes.
