Truman House Move

Habitat for Humanity will be moving a donated home from rural Lewisville to 302 Central Avenue South in Truman, sometime in the spring or summer of 2025. This roomy home has three bedrooms and a half bath upstairs, while the main floor has a kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and a possible other bedroom or an additional living room. Habitat for Humanity and our volunteer will be taking all of the walls down to the studs and completely updating the interior of the home, and we will also be putting a brand new full basement in prior to the house move. We have already chosen a family for this home – a young couple with two small children. Upon completion of the rehabilitation, the home will be sold to the family at a 0% interest rate, making the mortgage affordable for the couple. The City of Truman has donated a building lot for this project as well, so we have a lot of local support. Now the tricky thing is to pay for it!
