Vikki Baker-Brockberg

Community Development Associate

Vikki provides administrative support to the Community Development Team as well as MHP Staff. She has 10+ years in Education with an additional 10 years in Real Estate. She was a High School Administrative Lead Team Member, Homeless Liaison, and Director of Student Supportive Services simultaneously. Vikki worked with at-risk high school-aged students 14-22 years old who were considered by most systems “AT RISK OF NOT BEING….” These students were unstably housed, undernourished, traumatized, drug addicted, teen parents, parolees, gang members, some suffered mental and emotional health challenges, and some exhibited violent behaviors—but overall GREAT kids. She was instrumental in removing barriers and being an ally. She took on the role as Homeless Liaison, tasked with alleviating any and all barriers in their lives—and that became her mission. She was an instrumental part of the planning team that built a teen shelter in Anoka, implemented a breakfast and lunch program at her school, served meals to students daily to connect and build lasting relationships, and advocated and located funding for an onsite laundry facility (her students brought clothes in and washed them while they attended class). She established relationships with probation officers, judges, attorneys, landlords, county workers, housing specialists; secured grants for onsite mental health therapy; transported kids and families to and from appointments; and partnered with community organizations to develop a relationship of trust and respect for all involved.

As a realtor, Vikki worked with first-time homebuyers—sometimes the first to ever own a home in their family.

Vikki’s life’s mission is to “leave people, places, and things better off than I found them.”

In her free time, she loves spending time with family, sitting by the lake, and meeting new friends.
